Welcome to the Institute for Healthcare Advancement's Health Literacy Resource Site: Health Literacy Matters
Welcome to the Institute for Healthcare Advancement's new Health Literacy Resource website, Health Literacy Matters. We decided to grow this site slowly and a little more organically. We want this site to be useful to you. As you browse, please let us know if the existing content works for you, and what you would like to see here. Send your thoughts to mvillaire@iha4health.org. Thanks!
For the moment, we're concentrating on posting your Action Plans in response to the National Action Plan to Improve Health Literacy. We also want to provide you with posters presented at our annual Health Literacy Conference. And we're working on putting up some links and resources that we hope prove valuable to you.
Enjoy, browse, and don't forget to let us know what you think. Thanks!

Our Mission - Empowering people to better health
The Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity. Our mission is to "Empower People to Better Health." Health literacy is one of our primary objectives. Among our health literacy efforts:
- We offer a Health Literacy Rewrite/Redesign Service to make your health education materials easier to use and more understandable to your patients
- Our "What To Do For Health" book series features seven titles, written at a 3rd to 5th grade level, that feature easy-to-read and easy-to-use healthcare information on caring for yourself and your loved ones
- We produce an annual continuing education Health Literacy Conference for healthcare professionals and educators to teach them about health literacy, the latest research, and how to improve their patient education
To find out about our other initiatives, please visit our website, www.iha4health.org. Thanks!
